Getting back to work
Members plan their employment with the help of friends and family, other members, JobCentre staff, employer mentors and Horizon staff.
Through the clubhouse community and all its connections with employers and the wider community, members make the contacts that can help them on their employment path.
This can include experiences such as:
-
Voluntary work or unpaid work experience placements.
-
Education and training, from basic literacy and numeracy to advanced degrees.
-
Transitional Employment Placements, which are paid, part-time temporary jobs with local employers, supported on the jon by Horizon staff and members, designated to help the member address their employment challenges.
-
Informational interviews with employers or supervisors from the members field of interest.
-
Temporary and/or part-time jobs to gain experience in a relevant field.
-
Attendance at the monthly Employment Dinner held at Horizon House at which members can share their accomplishments and challenges.
